Map building for moving dogfights

Postby |450|Leady » Mon Sep 07, 2009 6:19 pm

Ok Guys

Here's a few tips for making missions for playing with Zuti's moving dogfight mod. For those of you who don't know, this mod allows you to build missions with moving AI aircraft, ships, tanks and trains that attack you just like a co-op! Just like a dogfight mission however you can jump into a new aircraft after you land and finish your mission, or heaven forbid get shot down!

Get it here

Download v0.8 Final
http://www.352ndfg.com/zuti/Zuti_DSMod_v0.8.exe

Find out more about it here
http://il2ultrapack.net46.net/index.php ... opic=214.0

Ok onto the cool stuff

Missions with moving front lines.
With Zuti's mod its not just the tanks and AI aircraft that move, so do the front lines. Not only that airfields can be captured!

Ok this is how you do it
Setup your tanks waypoints as normal, getting them to over run enemy troops in a town etc. Now, ontop of the tank/tank group Icon place an appropriate Front Marker. When you run Zuti's mod it will "snap" the front marker onto the tanks so that as they move so will the front line.
Now you only need to a 2-3 front markers per side for a tank battle because if a tank or group of tanks is destroyed the marker will "snap" onto the nearest friendly tank within 250m. The new tank will carry it through the battle until it is destroyed!

To capture an airfield tanks with a Front Marker on board simply have to overrun enemy the Home Base marker.

Moving Aircraft Carriers can also be spawn points for players during the moving dogfight.

This is how you do it
Select an Aircraft Carrier and setup it's way points as normal. Go to the home base menu and insert a new home base ontop of the carrier, select its side, blue or red and the aircraft you want to fly from it. When you run your mission the home base will snap to the carrier and where ever it goes you will spawn! If your carrier gets sunk your home base will dissapear!

Cheers All and enjoy your mission building!

Sorry for the confusion last night (8th september) the Mod went to its final version between this post yesterday and last nights training session.

Go to the first post (above) and you will find the top link has been updated for the new file download.

Delete the old mod folder (v0.8RC3.4) and its contents and then install the new v0.8 Final.

Once you have done that you should be good to go!

Cheers

S' Gents,

There may be a problem with Zuti 1.11, the latest version.

I saved a couple of missions in Z1.11 and when run they failed to allow any weapons carriage on any aircraft. I re-saved in Z1.1 and all was OK.

In case it is a bug, don't use Z1.11 to build missions. Z1.1 is OK.

Hi Squiz

Just spotted Zuti's reply to this issue/feature over at the Ultra Pack forum.

http://ultrapack.il2war.com/index.php/topic,1542.0.html

In Zuti 1.11 it looks like you need to select your allowed loadouts and all will be fine. The new mod defaults to "default" loadout. If we want bombs etc we have to manually select them for each aircraft type.

Cheers
